Q Laboratories’ Chief Scientific Officer Erin Crowley has been selected as a Fellow of AOAC® International. She will be presented with the honor during the Awards Ceremony on September 25th at the upcoming AOAC International Annual Meeting and Exposition in Atlanta.
Erin is has served AOAC® International in many capacities and is currently Chair of the AOAC® Official Methods Board, which oversees the Official Methods Program. The AOAC® Official MethodsSM Program is designed to provide needed evaluated methods that can be used with confidence by regulated industry, regulatory agencies, contract research organizations and testing laboratories, and academic institutions. Official MethodsSM undergo rigorous scientific scrutiny and demonstrate the highest level of confidence in a method.
Erin is also Chair of the International Stakeholder Panel on Alternative Methods (ISPAM). ISPAM was formed by AOAC® to develop harmonized, internationally accepted standard validation guidelines for alternative (rapid) chemical and microbiological methods by leveraging global networks of experts to reach consensus on an analytical validation protocol. The goal is to achieve optimal efficiency and avoid duplication of efforts in order to meet regulatory and product safety testing requirements.
